Almaden Preparatory School came to be as a result of the founder’s frustration in finding a program that academically advanced her children while allowing them to follow and pursue their extra-curricular activities. As her family experienced the frenetic lifestyle of raising young children, she realized that there was not a school in the valley that offered the balanced program she was looking for. Relying on her background in the educational field and parenting, she put in motion a plan to develop an academically competitive curriculum with a creative and enthusiastic staff enhanced by activities that channel interests and energies of children in a positive direction.

With the support of her family, she began to implement the program. Inside this warm setting is our private school, which provides an enriched Jr. kindergarten through eighth grade program with a formative and stimulating foundation. The spacious and inviting classrooms coupled with our innovative teaching staff present a superior approach to learning. Here, we implement a cross-curriculum strategy so the “whole child” is acknowledged and develops through our well-balanced classes and activities. This fundamental life-strategy is one that Almaden Preparatory has proudly supported since our establishment in 1994. Our tenfold reward is knowing that our satisfied children look forward to coming to school each day, are excited about learning and are propelled into the future with all the necessary tools to succeed.

In keeping with it's founding, Almaden Preparatory School maintains a diverse set of extra curricular opportunities.  Support from faculty, parents and friends make the quality and quantity of opportunities at Almaden Prep truly unique.  On campus, you will find football, volleyball, basketball, Tae Kwon Do, Aikido, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Lego Robotics, and more.  All of these opportunities are open to enrolled students.

Almaden Prep takes a leadership position in regard to creating these opportunities.  Nancy Cyester is the founder of the athletic league that Almaden Prep competes in.  The staff of Almaden Prep continues to provide the administration of the league, therefore ensuring the ongoing opportunity for students at Almaden Prep.

Almaden Preparatory has been very successful in providing a well-rounded education for our students. The education for our students extends beyond our high academic standards. Our students complete their education with excellent organizational skills, a high level of maturity, and a strong sense of commitment that allows them to excel as they continue on to high school.

We have a strong record in placing our students in the local private high schools. Our graduates have an average acceptance rate of 95%. As our students internalize their education, they learn to select a high school that will compliment their learning style and extra-curricular interests. These students are currently attending such prestigious schools, such as Bellarmine College Preparatory, Presentation, St. Francis, Archbishop Mitty and Notre Dame.
